This body of work explores themes of vulnerability and awkwardness. These paintings begin as photographs of people caught un-posed and unready for their image to be taken, and are then translated into oil and acrylic paintings. Featuring technicolor palettes and bizarre frames that seek to further embarrass the sitter, this series challenges the history of portraiture in an effort to realize the value of embarrassment as form of authenticity.
